Another decision by LeBron. (HANS DERYK / Reuters) From the It’s-About-Time Dept. comes news that LeBron James proposed to Savannah Brinson, the woman he’s dated since high school and the mother of his two children, on New Year’s Eve.

James, who turned 27 on Friday, passed up the opportunity to propose in a Jim Gray special. Instead he went the more traditional route, popping the question at a bash attended by the couple’s sons, 7-year-old LeBron Jr. and Bryce, as well as James’ Miami Heat teammates Dwyane Wade (with girlfriend Gabrielle Union) and Chris Bosh, rapper Nas and Gloria James, his mother. James and Brinson have been a couple since James’ playing days at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio.

Evidently, love is in the air in hoops world. Last week, Michael Jordan and girlfriend Yvette Prieto became engaged.

Who Is The Biggest Whiner?

Forget the fact that Asik actually beat you on the floor for the ball, and you were just out hustled on the play by a guy that’s making a pittance compared to you. That’s bad enough. But then you have to call him out for trying to hard? Gee, no wonder you have a reputation for not being tough enough.
Then last night against the Clippers the Laker’s Lamar Odom got into a tussle with Blake Griffin who was going to hard for a rebound, erp, delivering a “ram in the back” when there was nine second left in the game and the Clippers were up Why it was OK for Odom to be going for the rebound, or for that matter, for Shannon Brown to be taking shots if the game is already decided seems a bit of a unasked and unanswered question.
Somehow I don’t think that in all the previous beat-downs the Lakers have put on the Clippers over the years, they thought that if they were up by nine points with nine seconds left they should stop going for rebounds.
Heck, even Kobe disagree with him. “It’s just the right thing to do, you have to play all the way through. You play til the final buzzer sounds. That’s the way I grew up playing,” Apparently that’s the way Blake Griffin grew up playing too. Don’t hate on the man just because he’s trying there Mr. Odom, especially if you’re still trying too.
So who’s the bigger whiner here? The “provide for my family” Bosh whine or the “ram in the back” Odom whine? Hopefully they can both get over this sort of thing if the two teams match up in the finals. Otherwise we might end up with a series that should be served with cheese if you know what I mean.
